I was initially introduced to Naturopathic Medicine as a teen when I was dealing with my own digestive and skin conditions. It fascinated me, not only because I was able to heal but because I learned how my body worked, was listened to, and was empowered to make healthier choices in my own life. I quickly realized that I had a desire to heal, educate and empower others.
After graduation, I started a family and that is when the real learning took place! In 2010, my child was diagnosed with celiac disease. I experienced first-hand how stressful it is when your child is newly diagnosed with a life changing condition. There are so few resources available to parents. I now work with parents just like me to offer support and education on celiac disease.
I would describe myself as a maker – I love all things hands on. Throughout the year I can be found gardening, cooking, crafting, knitting, sketching, potting, sewing, dehydrating, canning, or learning a new skill often with my three kids in tow. I also love to read, do yoga, rock climb, be outdoors and take road trips.
