Kandis got her first taste of Naturopathic Medicine while studying traditional healing methods as an undergraduate at the University of Alberta. As an anthropology student she studied a variety of ancient healing practices from around the world. It was at the end of her undergrad that she realized that practicing these medicines, rather than studying them academically, was an inevitable course of action. These forms of medicine are her passion.

Dr. Lock has a general family practice with a special interest in cancer, GI disorders and women’s health issues including fertility.
What are you proud of in your practice?
I am proud of the relationships I build with my patients. A patient is never a number or an inconvenience. For me, it is important to listen and fully engage with each person who walks through my door. Having a good dialogue makes finding root cause and treating the whole body possible.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I love the complex and difficult cases. It’s like being a detective or solving a riddle. I love the challenge and also the research that it takes. There is so much to learn from these cases. That said, I am happy to treat a variety of cases from straightforward to complex. All are unique in their own way.
