Why should patients choose you as their therapist?
My first goal is to ensure each client feels heard, respected and valued. Each person has had such unique experiences and my first intention is to provide a safe and supportive environment to hold space for such inner truths. My second goal is to provide an opportunity for my clients to experience relief, shifts and healing as soon as possible. While healing takes time, the natural tool of hypnotherapy can gently provide my clients with movement in a timely manner. I take great care to explain the hypnosis process with each client and only ever use this tool when my clients feel totally comfortable and ready to proceed. I am certified through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and am a proud member of the National Guild of Hypnotists.
What led you to become a therapist?
Being a therapist is something that has always been a part of who I am. I have always felt a sense of being ‘home’ when supporting others through their journeys. Even as a child, while Kirk Kameron was the talk of the popular 80’s tv show “Growing Pains”, I was secretly admiring the father character who played a Therapist with a home practice. My passion was validated when I first began volunteering at a crisis centre in my early twenties. The sound of the voice of my first caller on my first crisis line shift was all that I needed to know my true place was one of holding space for those in pain.
As for the hypnosis piece, I had actually used hypnosis as a child myself! Having lived through illness at an early age, my father used light hypnosis with me as a tool to deal with pain and discomfort…. Becoming certified in Hypnotherapy and using this tool for others was always a dream/goal of mine!
What are the top 3 areas treatments that you specialize in?
- Sleep Disturbances
What are you proud of in your practice?
I am proud of the deep changes my clients make in such a short period of time.
Which Cases do you Enjoy Treating? Why?
I enjoy working with so many cases, as I truly love what I do! I really enjoy when a client is able to experience some kind of deep relaxation or shift when they had almost given up believing these things were possible. This is because I feel so honoured to share such a safe, natural and effective tool with those who are struggling.
What is your greatest accomplishment to date?
My family is my greatest masterpiece. Professionally however, I would have to say my greatest accomplishment to date would be each client I have helped experience freedom through hypnotherapy.
What do you do for fun?
I sing in my kitchen like I am a rock star, I play board games with my family, I enjoy movies, and I spend as much time by water as I can.
